The Law for Political Reform of 1977 and its importance for the democratic transition of Spain

The article is focused on the characterization of the process of the adoption of the Law for Political Reform of 1977 as important legal regulation during the Spanish transition to democracy and on the analysis of its provisions in order to define the benefits of this Law for the process of democratic transition of Spain. Text of the article is based on the original version of the Law for Political Reform of 1977, published in the Spanish Official Law Gazette (Boletín Oficial del Estado) and takes into account also the information contained in the Spanish scientific literature, related to the studied issues. Its ambition is to contribute to investigation of the processes of democratization in 20th century Europe, as well as the phenomenon of democratic transition, from the perspective of jurisprudence.
